Désormais, le genre boustrophédon des tablettes ayant été indiqué, nous le mettons de côté, comme inutile, et ennuyeux en un cahier. Nous mettons les signes à la suite les uns des autres, dans 1'ordre des tablettes, et indiquant les lignes par nos. [From now on, since the boustrophedon character of the tablets has been established, we set it aside, as useless and aggravating in a notebook. The signs are now written one after the other, in their order on the tablets, and lines are indicated by numbers(1)]
Note 1. Only the text of Metoro's reading appears in Barthel 1958, with Jaussen's comments. From these comments, one deduces that the hieroglyphs were reproduced on every right-hand page, and faced Metoro's text on the left-hand page. So far, Jaussen had reproduced those signs as they appeared on the tablet, in reverse boustrophedon, a tedious and confusing layout, which he now sets aside.
