Metoro's Readings __ Layout
Please note about the layout of these pages:
- In italics are Jaussen's comments, with their English translation in
square brackets.
- The page numbers in boldface in square brackets,
e.g. [p.94], refer to the pages in
Jaussen's notebook as numbered by him.
- Jaussen wrote down Metoro's reading of each sign
separating them with hyphens; so that each group of words
ending with a hyphen corresponds to one sign.
To help locate the signs relatively to the readings,
every fifth word group is numbered =01=, =05=, =10=, =15=, etc.
- With most browsers, if you
click on the links that read [Show hieroglyphs],
a new window will open, containing the hieroglyphic
text corresponding to Metoro's readings.
Move it and resize it so as to
have the hieroglyphs and the readings side by side,
and compare. Some browsers will not open a new
window, but will load the hieroglyphs into the
existing window, overwriting it; in that case,
try right-clicking on [Show hieroglyphs];
this will probably open a menu; select from it
"Get document in new window" (or a wording to that
effect).
